Steve acts as KJR's morning drive update anchor, providing the latest sports stories as well as commentary during "Mitch in the Morning," weekdays between 6 and 10 AM. Sandmeyer is also a regular on "Baseball's Best Post-game Show" and has covered the Mariners his entire tenure at KJR. Over the past 10 years, Steve has also performed as a fill-in host, sideline reporter for Husky football, play-by-play announcer Husky baseball and women's basketball broadcasts and announcer of several KJR productions of WIAA football and basketball games.
Steve is a born and raised Seattle area native, attending high school at Seattle Prep (Class of 1991). He attended college at Loyola Marymount University (Class of 1995). Sandmeyer originally joined KJR in 1999 as a part-time update anchor before joining Softy's show, where he co-hosted for three years. He joined the "Mitch in the Morning" program in October of 2002.
Steve and his wife Jenni live in Seattle with their daughter, Megan. Steve’s parents, Dick and Zita Sandmeyer, reside in the San Juan Islands, working as part time realtors.
